When you are motivated to get healthy, there
are obstacles that WILL stand in your
way. A few years ago I was depressed. I always thought that I had a lot to
offer people but I never felt adequate for such a role. People told me how great I was, but I never was
a “believer” in myself. During a conversation with my mom she told me how my
thoughts affect me. Thoughts can either help you or destroy you! Thoughts often
depict our behavior. When you think positive about yourself, you will find
yourself a much happier person! Here are some things that helped me have
healthy thoughts and pull out of the depression I was in.
1.
“No
matter how many times I fail, I can still become successful” (This helped
me pass my math 1050 in college after failing it 3 times!!!)
2.
“Don’t
compare yourself to others; you have talents than no one else can offer!”
(Repeating this to myself helped me have the confidence in myself and my
abilities.)
3.
“You are
attractive even when you don’t feel or look it.” (Changing my thoughts to
this mindset made me feel like I could ask any girl out! But it didn’t work
every time… lol)
4.
“You are
worth it!” (Thinking this helped me realize that taking reasonable risks
are worth my time and growth no matter the outcome. The pursuit of happiness
can be a rough road; however it can be obtained with a lot of hard work!)
5.
“It’s not
worth losing what I have worked so hard for.” (Thinking this often helps me
realize when something is simply tempting me to stray from achieving my goals.)
6.
“Things
will happen when they are supposed to” (there are so many things I want,
but patience is really the key to help me stay positive.)
7.
“Never,
ever give up on yourself and your goals to make you better “(As a human
being, I can, and will, fall short of my goals. It is important to always work
towards obtaining the goals that make you better.)
8.
“Most
Importantly, YOU CAN DO IT!!!” (You can always do anything you put your
mind to. It might take time, energy, and multiple failed attempts, but one day
you WILL conquer and accomplish your
dreams!)
If you have any positive thoughts, please feel free to share
them and how they have helped you!
